Major Ivan Acosta

 
Major Ivan Acosta is the Commandant of Cadets and an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Detachment 195, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. Detachment 195 is responsible for educating, training, and commissioning officer candidates and is the only AFROTC Detachment in the greater Chicago area; serving cadets from 17 different colleges and universities.

Major Acosta commissioned in May 1999 through the AFROTC program after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He is an acquisition officer and prior to his present assignment he was the chief of satellite program missions at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
