  • When are AFROTC classes?
      1. LLAB (GMC and POC) is Thursdays 8:00am to 10:00am
        Freshmen (IMT) AS Class is Thursdays 7:00am to 7:50am
        Sophomores (FTP) AS Class is Thursdays 7:00am to 7:50am
        Juniors and Seniors (POC) AS Class is Tuesdays 7:00am to 9:50am
  • Do I have to travel to IIT for classes?
      1. Yes. AFROTC classes are only offered on the campus of IIT.
  • Is transportation provided?
      1. No, cadets are responsible for providing their own transportation. Cadets will often carpool together.
  • Will ROTC pay for my college?
      1. AFROTC may pay up to 100% of college tuition if you receive a scholarship or are eligible for the Illinois State Tuition Waiver.
  • Who can I contact if I have any more questions about joining the program?

  • What is my commitment after college?
      1. There is a four year commitment after graduation unless you are a pilot or other rated officer.
  • How can I get a scholarship?
      1. High School Students: Apply for the high school scholarship at www.afrotc.com before December 1st of your senior year in high school.
        Current College Students: In-college scholarships are based on availability. Eligibility requirements may vary based on the scholarship. However, you must be enrolled in the program for at least one semester and remain in good academic standing.
  • What does the Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) consist of?
      1. Body Mass Index (Pass/Fail)
        Push-ups (1 minute) - 10% of score
        Sit-ups (1 minute) - 10% of score
        1.5 Mile run - 60% of score
        Body Composition - 20% of score
